Seven reasons why we chose Aspen fuels

Vatupassi has entered into a partnership with the Swedish company Aspen, which will supply fuel for our machines in the future. From Aspen, we receive alkylate gasoline, biodiesel, and chain oil made from renewable materials.

From now on, all Vatupassi’s two- and four-stroke engines will use alkylate gasoline, which is a cleaner-burning fuel developed by Aspen. Additionally, all the diesel we use is 100% renewable biodiesel made from Aspen’s renewable hydrocarbons. As summer approaches, Aspen fuels have been filled into various equipment available in our rental shops, such as vibratory plates, garden tillers, and trailer-mounted lifts with combustion engines.

Well-proven fuels are not easily replaced. That’s why we listed seven reasons why we chose Aspen.

The engines love it

Alkylate gasoline is produced from the gaseous hydrocarbons of fossil fuels, such as vapors or gases generated during oil refining. Fuel produced by this process contains negligible amounts of olefins, aromatic hydrocarbons, or other unnecessary impurities that become toxic when burned. That’s why Aspen’s gasoline burns with a cleaner flame than traditional gasoline. Simply put, using Aspen’s fuel leaves less soot, deposits, and mess in the engine. And as we know, the less mess, the longer the engine lasts in operation. With Aspen’s fuels, our equipment stays in good condition longer.

Aspen gasoline also lasts significantly longer than typical small engine gasoline. We all know that machines left sitting over the winter may not start if the tank contains old fuel. Aspen fuels can last for up to 3–5 years, so even machines that have been unused for a long time start reliably and easily. Not many fuels can do that!

The people love it

The development of Aspen’s alkylate gasoline started when loggers experienced headaches due to the exhaust fumes from chainsaws. Cleaner fuel was needed. Aspen’s exhaust fumes are odorless and contain fewer harmful emissions for humans. You can all imagine the impact this has on people’s health, for example, in karting halls or other enclosed spaces where engines run all day.

At Vatupassi, employee well-being is always our top priority, so that’s another reason why alkylate gasoline is the right choice for us. No one should suffer from unnecessary fumes at work.

Environmentally friendly option

Due to cold winters, it’s not yet possible to electrify all of Vatupassi’s machinery. In certain places, combustion engines still have their place. With alkylate gasoline, we significantly reduce exhaust emissions harmful to the ozone layer. We also switch diesel to Aspen’s biodiesel, which is made from rapeseed. If we have to burn fuel, let’s do it in the best possible way!

If it’s good enough for rally drivers, it’s good enough for us too

Aspen’s fuels are used in motorsports, including the STCC series. We have some passionate rally fans at work, so this fact immediately caught our interest! However, when it comes to engines that cost tens of thousands of euros, you don’t pour just any old gunk into them; the fuel has to be top-notch. What has particularly interested garages about Aspen’s gas is its consistency. Every can guarantees what it promises, and the engines stay cleaner.

Less odor in your home yard

Alkylate gasoline isn’t just for the pros. The technology in home machines like lawnmower engines isn’t as advanced as in professional equipment, so clean combustion is even more critical. Odorless and non-toxic exhaust gases are also highly effective in maintaining good relations with the neighbors!

For example, the garden tillers available for rent from Vatupassi use Aspen’s cleanly burning alkylate gasoline. You’ll notice the difference in ease of use.

Aspen isn’t afraid of Finnish winters

When it comes to environmentally friendly fuels, the first question usually asked is, ‘How do they perform in winter?’ Aspen’s alkylate gasoline was developed in Swedish forest sites, so demanding and varied conditions are familiar to the developers. Aspen burns well even in freezing temperatures, and icy weather doesn’t freeze the oils. That’s why they’re trusted even in our latitudes.

Good vibes all around

Ultimately, the collaboration with Aspen was also influenced by the fact that it’s easy to get along with the folks at the company. Founded in the 1980s to serve the needs of loggers, the company’s down-to-earth attitude has remained intact to this day. Things work more than just on paper, and the product is solid. We highly recommend giving it a try!
